- Your happiest memory. Tell us the story of the happiest memory of your life. What happened? Get it all down, no detail left behind. The clock is ticking — get writing.
It had been a while since the last time I had been happy. Usually, I smothered my consciousness with sleep until late afternoon and food after that, but for some reason that day, I had managed to rise, and that night, I skipped home from the supermarket, plastic bag with chips swinging like Little Red Riding Hood’s basket and an appreciative yell from a passing car to tell me that I’d been noticed.
Dorothy Ruby Shoes felt this down the Yellow Brick Road, that lady from that musical – the Sound of Music – did the young gentlewoman version of it up a lushly green hill – the gaiety that comes of throwing yourself up into that fraction of a moment when your upward force perfectly equals the force of gravity pressed down on you, rendering both moot. Yes, it’s zero gravity, a fraction of a moment when nothing is reminding you that you are chained to a body trapped on the ground.
And that was a challenge from The Daily Post @ WordPress available “here” [http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/08/05/writing-challenge-remember/]. Constructive feedback would be great.
